Atlang Mompe works to help people get better access to affordable, quality healthcare by providing research to policymakers. She is a Botswana national currently living in the Washington DC area. She is part of the team that writes the National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Reports (NHQDR), which focuses on improving the healthcare delivery system.
Mompe believes that the most effective social change is informed by research and data. She says that, in order to improve health conditions, measurement is essential. She participates in the healthcare research field by presenting posters at national conferences, including the National Center for Health Statistics, American Public Health Association, Academy Health and the Minority Health and Health Disparities Grantees’ Conferences.
In the fall of 2015 she will matriculate at The George Washington University Master’s in Public Health (M.P.H) with a focus on Epidemiology.

- Eisenhower Institute Undergraduate Fellow leading a 10 student and faculty public health and development trip to Botswana and South Africa
- School for International Training (SIT) Global Health and Development Policy study abroad program in Switzerland
- Organized a panel of poster presentations and presented at the 2009 International AIDS Economics AIDSImpact conference in Botswana
Ms. Mompe graduated magna cum laude from Gettysburg College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Political Science and a minor in French.
